Know where every ladle and torpedo car is in your steel plant, without mounting electronics on the hottest equipment you run.
Ladles spend their working life moving between furnaces, treatment stations, and casters under overhead cranes. Metal Fleet tracks them through those cranes: time-of-flight radio devices mounted on each crane measure the crane’s position as it travels the bay.
Because the devices ride on the crane, they sit away from the heat of the ladle itself. The system ties each crane’s movements to the ladle it is carrying, so you can see where every ladle is and how it moves through the melt shop.
The location data can feed your existing systems. We scope that integration after a site and systems analysis of your melt shop.
Torpedo cars carry molten iron between the blast furnace and the BOF (basic oxygen furnace), so tracking them means working next to extreme heat.
Metal Fleet fits high-temperature active RFID tags to the torpedo rail car itself, not to the hot torpedo vessel. Active RFID readers then show where each car is as it moves through the plant.
Each asset gets the technology that suits where it works and how it moves.
Devices on overhead cranes measure the crane’s position from radio signal travel time, which gives the position of the ladle the crane is carrying.
Battery-powered tags built for high temperature ride on the torpedo rail car and are read by active RFID readers around the plant.
We build the software that turns position data into something operators and schedulers use, and connect it to the systems you already run.
Through the overhead cranes that carry them. Time-of-flight radio devices on each crane give its position, and the system links that position to the ladle being carried.
Ladles work in the hottest part of the plant. Mounting the devices on the crane keeps them away from the heat of the ladle, and the crane goes wherever the ladle goes while it is lifted.
With high-temperature active RFID tags fitted to the torpedo rail car, not to the hot torpedo vessel. Active RFID readers pick up each car as it moves through the plant.
Yes. We build custom software and scope each integration after a site and systems analysis.
Pricing is set after a site and systems analysis, never before. The first step is a discovery call about your facility and what you need to track.
Tell us what you need to track and where it moves. We'll tell you how we can help and what it takes to get there. Because every facility is different, pricing is set after a call and an analysis.
