Know exactly where every slab, billet, and bloom is, from caster discharge through its life in the yard to the mills.
Cameras read the ID of each slab, billet, and bloom when it is picked up. We train vision models to read whatever your plant supplies: labels, stamps, or markings.
The exact location of the product is determined by the carrier moving it. Cranes work mainly indoors, where time-of-flight devices give each crane’s exact position. Haulers fetch product from inside and carry it through the yard, where GPS gives their position outdoors and active RFID gives it indoors.
Tracking runs from caster discharge, through the product’s life in the yard, to the mills.
Checkpoints add to this. Active RFID at key points is read by a reader in the vehicle, so the system records product passing each point.
Cranes move cast product indoors, and haulers fetch it from inside and move it through the yard. Because each carrier’s position is known, the system follows the product through each hand-off between them.
Yard inventory shows what is stored where, without walking the yard or relying on handwritten lists.
Each slab is identified at pickup from the label, stamp, or marking your plant supplies, and then located by the crane or hauler carrying it, from caster discharge through the yard to the mill.
Billets are identified at pickup in the same way. Billets that travel in bundles are tracked physically at bundle level, and hand-off software works out which individual billets are in each bundle when they are added.
Blooms are identified at pickup from your labels, stamps, or markings, and located by their carrier. Blooms that travel in bundles are tracked at bundle level, with hand-off software identifying each piece.
Cameras identify the product. The carrier gives its location.

Time-of-flight devices give the exact position of each overhead crane, and so of the product it is carrying.
GPS outdoors and active RFID indoors locate the hauler. Active RFID checkpoints are read by a reader in the vehicle.

Pricing is set after a site and systems analysis, never before. The first step is a discovery call about your facility and what you need to track.
Tell us what you need to track and where it moves. We'll tell you how we can help and what it takes to get there. Because every facility is different, pricing is set after a call and an analysis.
